I am still having trouble understanding what the "does not meet" on my strand means.

The New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) has made available a powerful set of resources for NM teachers and administrators at http://teachnm.org.  We encourage you to utilize this website when you have questions about teaching-related issues in order to most quickly find your answers and accomplish your goals!

The section of the TeachNM website on the Professional Development Dossier (PDD) for teachers is accessed by clicking “Experienced Teachers” at the top and then “Professional Development Dossier” - http://teachnm.org/programs/professional-development-dossier/pdd-for-teachers.html

The section of the TeachNM website on the 3-Tiered Licensure System may also be helpful.  It is accessed by clicking "Experienced Teachers" at the top and then "3-Tiered Licensure System" - http://teachnm.org/programs/3-tiered-licensure-system.html

The Educator Quality Division is dedicated to addressing the growing needs of educators who desire to continue their professional growth.  Recent feedback from educators across the state indicates that there is a desire for additional feedback and guidance when an educator receives a "does not meet" on a strand of their dossier.  This need, along with the demands and surplus of data our educators are already saddled with, necessitate a continuous evolution in both the materials provided to support educators in the dossier process and the way that they can be utilized.

To this end, the Educator Quality Division of the New Mexico Public Education department has developed a series of text, podcast, audio and video resources to assist educators with understanding what a "does not meet" on a strand means.  These resources can be found at http://teachnm.org/resources/educator-quality.html
